Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000

1. Introduction

This manual is published in terms of Section 14 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). It provides guidance on how members of the public can access records held by R Loans.

3. Records Available

R Loans holds records relating to:

  • Loan applications and agreements
  • Borrower information and verification documents
  • Transaction and repayment records
  • Agent performance and commission records
  • Company policies and procedures
  • Financial and accounting records

4. Requesting Access

To request access to records in terms of PAIA:

  1. Complete the prescribed access request form (Form C)
  2. Submit the form to the Information Officer
  3. Pay the applicable access fee (if any)
  4. Await a response within 30 days

5. Grounds for Refusal

Access to records may be refused in accordance with Section 36 to 69 of PAIA, including:

  • Protection of privacy of a third party
  • Protection of commercial information
  • Protection of confidential information
  • Records subject to legal privilege

6. Fees

A request fee may be charged for access to records. The fee structure is available upon request from the Information Officer.
